ABOUT the Park:
Nestled in the Lassen National Forest along scenic Hat Creek near Old Station, California, this classic Northern California camping area is known for its forested creekside setting, cool, clear waters, and abundant outdoor recreation. Hat Creek is a premier trout fishing destination and offers easy access to hiking, wildlife viewing, volcanic geology features like the Spatter Cones Trail and nearby Subway Cave, and the Pacific Crest Trail. The campground is surrounded by mixed conifer forest at about 4,390 feet elevation, making for shady, peaceful days and starry nights.
WEATHER:
Early June at Hat Creek brings warm, comfortable summer conditions with long sunny days and cool nights. Average daytime highs are around mid-70s°F (about 75–78 °F) with nighttime lows dipping into the upper 40s°F (~47–50°F)—so layers are key for mornings and evenings. Rain is light and infrequent in June, skies are typically clear, and daylight lasts over 15 hours, perfect for hiking, fishing, and exploring.

ABOUT OUR CAMPSITE:
Our group campsites at Hat Creek offer spacious settings for tents and RVs (up to ~40 ft), picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and access to potable water and restrooms. The campground sits amid a mixed forest right next to Hat Creek—kids can play by the water, anglers can cast for trout just steps from camp, and hikers can head out to nearby trails straight from the site.
